Storage Uxbridge Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Uxbridge in respect of the financial year ending 31 December and outlines our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Storage Uxbridge recognises its responsibility to act ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all business relationships, and to implement effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Uxbridge operates storage and associated services, working with a range of suppliers including facilities management contractors, equipment providers, technology providers, and professional service firms. Our supply chains span goods and services that support the operation, maintenance, and management of our storage facilities, as well as indirect goods and services used in our offices and day-to-day business activities.
We acknowledge that the risk of modern slavery can exist in any sector or region, particularly in areas involving low-skilled labour, outsourced services, and the manufacture or transport of goods. We are committed to identifying, assessing, and mitigating such risks in a proportionate and ongoing manner.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Storage Uxbridge maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, servitude, child labour that is exploitative or interferes with education, and human trafficking. This zero-tolerance stance applies to our own activities, to those who work on our behalf, and to our suppliers and business partners.
We expect all individuals and organisations working with or for Storage Uxbridge to share this commitment. Non-compliance with this policy may result in review and potential termination of contracts or business relationships where appropriate and lawful.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers who uphold high ethical standards. Our supplier onboarding and review processes include a requirement that suppliers confirm adherence to all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws. We seek assurances that suppliers have appropriate policies and controls in place to prevent modern slavery within their own operations and supply chains.
Storage Uxbridge conducts proportionate risk-based due diligence on suppliers, focusing on sectors, geographies, and services where modern slavery risks are higher. This may include supplier questionnaires, requests for policy and procedure documentation, and where appropriate, on-site visits or audits. Where concerns are identified, we work collaboratively with suppliers to implement corrective actions or, if necessary, to reconsider the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns about potential modern slavery or human trafficking in connection with Storage Uxbridge. Concerns may relate to our own operations or to any part of our supply chain. Reports can be made to any manager, senior leader, or via established internal reporting channels.
Reports will be treated seriously and, where possible, confidentially. Storage Uxbridge will investigate all reported concerns promptly and fairly, and will take appropriate action where modern slavery risks or instances are identified. We do not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibility
Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery commitments sits with the senior management team of Storage Uxbridge, who ensure that appropriate controls, processes, and reviews are in place. Relevant employees involved in procurement, supplier management, or facility operations are made aware of modern slavery risks and our expectations of suppliers.
We aim to increase awareness across our workforce of the signs of modern slavery, the importance of ethical sourcing, and the internal channels through which concerns can be raised. This helps to embed our zero-tolerance culture throughout the organisation.
Annual Review and Continuous Improvement
Storage Uxbridge is committed to the continuous improvement of its approach to tackling modern slavery. This statement, along with our supporting policies and procedures, is reviewed at least annually to reflect changes in legislation, best practice guidance, and our business operations.
As part of our annual review, we assess the effectiveness of our risk assessments, supplier due diligence, and reporting mechanisms, and we identify opportunities for further strengthening our controls. Where necessary, we update our processes and communicate these changes to relevant employees and suppliers, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery in all its forms.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Uxbridge and will be updated as needed to reflect our evolving efforts and responsibilities.
